Steps: convert accents to plain letters (é → e), lowercase, replace & with "and", remove symbols, collapse spaces into single hyphens and trim hyphens at the ends.

Should I use hyphens or underscores?
Hyphens. Google treats hyphens as word separators, which helps readability and SEO.
How long should a slug be?
Short: 3 to 6 words is ideal. Keep the main keyword and drop filler.
Should I change old slugs?
Only if you add a 301 redirect from the old URL, or you will lose traffic and links.
Can slugs contain Hindi or accents?
They can, but they turn into long encoded strings when shared. Plain Latin-letter slugs are safer.
