How to use the Image Resizer & Compressor

  1. Drop one or more images, or click to choose them.
  2. Choose a new width and height, a percentage, or keep the size and just compress.
  3. Pick JPG, WebP or PNG and a quality. For a strict limit, type a target size in KB.
  4. Click Resize, then download each image or all of them.

Formula used

If you set only the width, the height is calculated to keep the same aspect ratio:

New height = Original height Γ— New width Γ· Original width

For a target size, the tool tries lower quality settings until the file fits, then shrinks the dimensions if needed.

Frequently asked questions

How do I reduce image size to 50 KB?

Choose JPG or WebP, type 50 in "Target size (KB)" and click Resize. For very large photos, also set a width of about 800 to 1200 pixels.

Does resizing reduce quality?

Making an image smaller keeps it sharp. Making it larger than the original adds no detail and can look soft.

Which format is smallest?

WebP is usually 25% to 35% smaller than JPG at the same quality. PNG is best for logos and screenshots with few colours.

Can I resize many images at once?

Yes. Select or drop as many as you like and download them all.

Will transparency be kept?

Yes with PNG and WebP. JPG has no transparency, so transparent areas turn white.
