How to use the Age Calculator
- Pick your date of birth.
- Leave "Age on" as today, or change it to a cut-off date (for example a job closing date).
- Read your age in years, months and days, plus totals and your next birthday.
Formula used
The calculator counts full years first, then full months, then the remaining days, borrowing days from the previous month when needed. This is the method schools, exam boards (such as UPSC and SSC in India) and passport offices use when they check age limits.

Frequently asked questions
How do I calculate my age on a cut-off date?
Set "Age on" to the cut-off date, for example 1 August for UPSC or the school entry date. Your age on that date must be within the limit, plus any relaxation allowed.
How is age calculated if I was born on 29 February?
In non-leap years, your birthday is usually counted as 28 February or 1 March, depending on local law. The calculator shows full months and days exactly.
How many days old am I?
The result shows your total age in days, weeks and hours as well as years.
Can I calculate age between two past dates?
Yes. Change "Age on" to any date. To count days between any two dates, try the Date Difference Calculator.
Does the calculator use my time zone?
It counts calendar dates, so time zones do not affect the result.
