How to use the Scientific Calculator
- Type an expression or tap the buttons. Use ^ for powers and ! for factorial.
- Switch DEG/RAD before using sin, cos or tan.
- Press = or Enter. Your last answer is kept as "Ans".
- Use the tabs for quadratic equations, GCD/LCM and prime checks.
Formula used
Quadratic formula: x = (βb Β± β(bΒ² β 4ac)) Γ· 2aLCM(a, b) = |a Γ b| Γ· GCD(a, b)
GCD uses Euclid's algorithm. The prime checker tests divisors up to βn and lists the prime factors.
Worked examples
| Input | Result |
|---|---|
| 2^10 | 1,024 |
| sin(30) in DEG | 0.5 |

| log(1000) | 3 |
| xΒ² β 3x + 2 = 0 | x = 2, x = 1 |

Frequently asked questions
How do I calculate powers?
Use the ^ key: 3^4 = 81. For square roots use β, for example β(81) = 9.
What is the difference between log and ln?
log is base 10, so log(100) = 2. ln is the natural log, base e (about 2.718), so ln(e) = 1.
Why does sin(90) give 0.894?
The calculator is in RAD mode. Switch to DEG to get sin(90) = 1.
Can it solve equations?
Yes, quadratic equations in the Quadratic tab, including complex roots when the discriminant is negative.
Does it work offline?
Once the page has loaded, all calculations run in your browser.
